The Coburn Place family lost a dear member and passionate advocate of our mission. Suzy touched the lives of so many. Her warmth, kindness and deeply caring nature will stay with everyone who knew her, and her beautiful spirit will live on. The world lost a brilliant light, but heaven certainly gained one.
A memorial service will be held for Suzy on September 3rd at the University of Indianapolis. Everyone is invited to attend and share memories and fellowship with those in Indiana whose lives Suzy touched.

“The tears will not stop falling right now. Suzy was such a special person, a bright light on any day, with an amazing spirit and a true passion for Coburn Place and helping the women and families there. Upon my completion of Coburn’s program in 11/2011, Suzy and I periodically stayed in touch & were friends. She touched everyone she met in a special way. My children and I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, the Coburn family, and all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Xoxo” – Renee
“The Coburn Place community is devastated and at a loss to comprehend the untimely death of Suzy. She is more than a colleague. She is a member of our family. She always had words of encouragement and always a smile on her face. From surprising her co-workers with their favorite candy to offering hugs, smiles, and notes to brighten the days of anyone around her, Suzy is as kind-hearted a person as you’ll ever meet. She simply cannot be replaced and the void she leaves in our hearts and at Coburn Place will remain. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family as they grieve the loss of their beautiful daughter, niece, and loved one.” – Julia
