It is no secret that we need you, our suporter, for our program to flourish. One of our biggest supporters is Women’s Forum of Bingham Greenbaum Doll (BGD). Kandi Hidde, a member and BDG partner, first began supporting Coburn Place as a board member because she “is passionate about helping families thrive and live in a safe environment and that is what Coburn Place does on a daily basis.”
Kandi was the driving force behind getting her female colleagues involved, too. Perhaps no group of supporters illustrates the many ways any group can get involved with our mission better than the Women’s Forum of BGD.
The Women’s Forum of BGD has sponsored our CoburnFest! and Blue Breakfast events. They’ve also sponsored an apartment, which covers the cost of readying it for a new family. As a group, they’ve volunteered their time to set-up an apartment, an annual event that they always look forward to. Once they even made a video of their experience for Companies with a Mission and won $5,000 for our program! When our supplies get low, they hold wish list drives get even more employees at Bingham Greenebaum Doll involved.
Kandi told us, “The Women’s Forum of BGD also embraces the significant needs of victims of domestic violence and wants to make a difference in the lives of those victims and their families. Through BGD’s and the Forum’s sponsorships, volunteer activities, and service on the board and committees of Coburn, the members of the Forum are able to give back to the community in a significant way.” Very significant, indeed. Thank you, friends!
No matter what size your group, there are various opportunities to make a big impact on the lives of domestic violence survivors and their families.
