To celebrate all you’ve done to support DV survivors and their families for the last 20 years, we held an open house on 2/22/16. We had a wonderful time showing you around our beautiful, old building. Every staff member definitely got their 10,000 steps in! Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to stop by and see the mission in action. We opened our house; you opened your hearts.
There were so many touching and coming full circle moments. Here are a few:
12 Golden Kiwanis members from Robin Run came by bus, stayed for more than an hour and asked tons of great questions.
This group of students from the Pike Ambassador Club dropped by, but they didn’t come empty-handed! They raised money and made these sweet blankets for us. Totally awesome!
Melanie works at Hedges & Associates and helps us write grants, including the one to the Lilly Endowment, Inc. that made the Children’s Area rehab possible. So cool!
Kimberly works for Godby HPE, one of our corporate supporters. She is also a super couponer and put her skills to use. She and her family brought two cart loads of donations – amazing!
Julie works for the City of Indianapolis and used to be our grant manager. She also works part-time for Crate & Barrel. When they have household items they can no longer sell, they donate them to us. Guess where the place settings on this table came from? Yep, Julie rocks!
Judy is a retired social worker. She was also a student at IPS #66, aka Henry P. Coburn, our building’s original incarnation. What trip down memory lane for her.
Thanks to Team Coburn for pulling out the stops and bringing it all together!
Our VPs, Lara and Jenni, were the best dressed moppers ever. Check out that shine.
Keith and Dolly put out quite a spread. Everyone knows it’s a party when there’s a chocolate fountain!
Zoe and Allie, former interns that continue to volunteer, were in charge of decorations.
