A Brand New Look for a Beloved Space

20151028_115307It’s safe to say that our Youth Activity Rooms are the most used and well-loved of our community spaces. This special area is getting a much needed makeover with huge thanks to the Lilly Endowment, Inc.! With grant funds we are able to fix a leaky storm drain, replace cabinets, counter tops and carpet, paint and remodel the restroom. Not only will these rooms be fresh and clean but more kid-friendly too. Check back here and on social media for updates.

The bright lime green was colorful and fun but also a bit overwhelming. Don’t worry; the awesome murals are staying!

The crew from Irish Mechanical Services had to cut a hole in the wall and then get into it to fix the leak!

Many thanks to students from Cathedral High School for getting things started by helping us pack up and clean up.

The employees from Elanco were amazing! Not only did they donate their time and skills but the materials too – including the restroom fixtures. This saved so much money.

Out with the old carpet and in with new.

The cabinets were installed. The wooden play equipment was delivered. And the helpers kept coming! Our friends from Woodforest National Bank opened so many boxes! They helped assemble some of the toys, too. From toddlers to teens and everyone in between, imaginations of all ages will soar.
