Jen Hund Says Goodbye

As many of you know, Steve and I are adventurers at heart – for the past 5 years, we look forward to our bicycle tours that take us out of our comfort zone and send us out into the world with all we need in a few bags on our bikes. We have general plans, but we also enjoy the surprises each day provides. Whether we were in the Bolivian salt desert or the Peruvian Andes, the coasts of Ecuador and Colombia or the mountains of southern Mexico; the windy lunar landscapes of Iceland or the gentle rolling hills of central Ohio – or even in our own backyard – we experience the world in a different way when we have to live simply, accept the hospitality of strangers, trust the people we encounter, and be more deeply and closely connected to the earth. I hope to find part-time work in Key West, FL, but I’ve never been and have no contacts there. I appreciate any help you might be able to give by introducing me to contacts you may have there. I have no expectations about the kind of work I’ll be doing – I’m open to saying “yes” to something new! When Steve and I open ourselves up to the unknown, we find ourselves in situations that we never would have planned, discovering that there is so much more out there than we could ever ask for or imagine. What a joyful, playful, and bewildering world we live in!

Greetings friends! It is with a heavy yet joyful heart that I write this news – my last day at Coburn Place is March 22. My husband Steve and I are moving to Key West, FL, in late April, where he’s accepted a call as interim rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and together we’ll be figuring out what comes next in our lives. I am so grateful for the opportunities that Coburn Place has provided for me these past two years. I’ve worked with an amazing group of creative and collaborative colleagues who offer daily support and encouragement not only to me but to the supporters I’ve had the pleasure of training, guiding, and learning from. I know without a doubt that every conversation had, every lesson learned, every skill honed, every question pondered, every challenge accepted, every process developed, and every single person encountered will play a role in the next steps of my life. I’ve had the honor of getting to know the incredibly generous supporters of Coburn Place who give of their finances, their time, and most of all their hearts to further the mission of Coburn Place. I will miss you all terribly.

Most humbly and sincerely,

Jen
