Keep your story going.

Coburn Place illuminates a path forward to restore hope and promote healing for adults and children experiencing domestic violence. Because of community support, Coburn Place offers the safe housing, time and safety – as well as compassionate and holistic support – needed to heal and rebuild. We specialize in fresh starts and believe everyone deserves a safe home.

Your planned gift to Coburn Place is a powerful legacy, ensuring future survivors will always have safe housing choices and compassionate support as they make the brave decision to leave and start over again. Your gift will make sure that future survivors have what they need to get safe and heal.

Making a planned gift is simple. Here are three ways to do it:

Add a Gift to Your Will or Living Trust

Legacy giving through a living trust or will is a powerful way of supporting Coburn Place, while still allowing flexibility based on life’s changing circumstances. Legacy gifts ensure that services for survivors will continue, no matter what.

Leaving a gift to Coburn Place in your will is also simple. Adding a single sentence to your will or living trust ensures the mission of Coburn Place can continue serving survivors for years to come.

A bequest gift could take the following form:

1. A specific dollar amount
2. A percentage of the total estate
3. The remaining value of the estate after all other bequests have been fulfilled

Name Coburn Place as a Beneficiary

Naming Coburn Place Safe Haven as a beneficiary on your retirement account or life insurance policy is a simple and powerful way to support the lifesaving work of our organization without changing your will or living trust.

Retirement accounts

Many of our donors name Coburn Place as a beneficiary of all or a specified percentage of their IRA, 401(k), 403(b) or other retirement plan. Individuals who inherit retirement plan assets are usually required to pay income tax on them, so they’re often considered among the best assets to leave to charity.

Ask your retirement plan administrator or financial institution for a change of beneficiary form. Please list us as:

Legal Name: Coburn Place Safehaven II
