When a gun is accessible and a relationship is abusive, it is 10 times more likely the abuser will kill their intimate partner. Join us for a discussion about gun violence, the federal and state laws around it, and the impact on advocates, law enforcement officers and survivors.

Our guest is Caryn Burton, homicide reduction strategies coordinator at the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She worked in direct victim services for eight years as both an outreach and court advocate and as the director of a transitional housing program. Caryn has been at ICADV since 2007 and served as training coordinator for 15 years before taking her current role. She is a survivor of a violent adolescent relationship and has worked throughout her life to educate about the effects of abuse.
