Become a Solo Volunteer in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1: Create a Volunteer Profile and Account

We use a volunteer management system called Bloomerang Volunteer. To become a volunteer at Coburn Place, you first need to do the following using that system.

1. Create a volunteer account.
2. On the Coburn Place page, click ‘sign up’ and fill out a volunteer application.
3. Once the application is approved, your next step is to pick a date and time that works for you to attend a volunteer orientation. You can do that here.

Step 2: Complete Volunteer Onboarding
  1. Once you have signed up for an orientation, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, which will include a link to complete a background check. (There is a $19 fee for this step.) Note: This must be completed before you attend the orientation.
  2. Attend an orientation in person at Coburn Place.
Step 3: Sign-up for a Shift and Start Volunteering

We have several volunteer opportunities available from filling pantry requests, to groundskeeping, to assisting staff with programs and events. Find a list of opportunities on our volunteer page.

If you sign up for an opportunity, but do not see any shifts available, you will be notified when shifts are added.

If you have an idea for a volunteer opportunity that is not listed here, reach out to Director of Engagement, Haylee Sanford, to share and discuss!
