The 2025 NAP tax credit sale is sold out!

Thank you so much for supporting survivors of domestic violence. We are currently sold out of NAP tax credits.

Please e-mail Julie Henson at jhenson@coburnplace.org if you would like to be notified if we received additional NAP tax credits this year.

FAQs

What is the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP)?
  • The Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) offers up to $2.5 million in tax credits annually for distribution by 501(c) 3 not-for-profit corporations.
  • Organizations use NAP tax credits as an incentive to help them leverage more contributions from individuals and businesses for certain neighborhood-based programs and projects. Tax credits are distributed to donors at 50% of the contribution amount and are subtracted from a donor’s state income tax liability.
What is the timeline of the sale?
  • The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) permits Coburn Place to sell NAP Tax Credits between the contract dates of July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
  • Coburn Place will begin selling credits from 9 a.m. on September 10 until they sell out.
Which contributions are eligible?
  • NAP tax credits must be distributed to donors at exactly half (50%) of the contribution amount. The only time that it is acceptable for a NAP recipient to give a donor less than half of the contribution amount is when Coburn Place has run out of tax credits to distribute.
  • Eligible donors include any person, business or organization that has an Indiana income tax liability. Credits apply only to state taxes owed.
  • Minimum contribution eligible is $100 and maximum contribution eligible is $50,000 for all NAP donations per fiscal year. Coburn Place is restricting contributions for NAP Credits between $500 and $1,500 (which is a donation of between $1,000 and $3,000).
  • Coburn Place has determined that contributions accepted will be made online from donors at coburnplace.org/nap-tax-credits or by dropping off a check onsite. Checks cannot be credited until they are physically in hand.
How many household members can be listed?
  • Only ONE person in your household can be listed on each form. If, for example, you and someone else in your household would like to be credited individually, each person must submit a separate contribution and form.
What else do I need to do to receive tax credits?
  • Please keep a copy of the acknowledgment letter you receive from Coburn Place and return the enclosed paperwork to Coburn Place as soon as possible. Speak with your tax advisor regarding other documentation that might be required for you to maintain.
How will my donation be used?
  • Donations made to Coburn Place through the NAP program will be designated for the Housing and Support Services Program.
I have additional questions - who can I ask?
