Rachel Scott, president and CEO, answers a few questions about herself. Find out more about her career here.
Where are you from?
I moved a lot as a kid, but my many residences were concentrated in the Far Eastside (38th to 42nd streets, Post to Mitthoeffer roads) and Near Eastside (Brookside and Boner Center area).
What side of town do you live on?
I live by Lawrence North High School.
Tell us about your family.
I’m married to Carl Hayes, an attorney for Simon Property Group. We each have two kids – my daughters Chloe and Alison (26 and 24) live in Des Moines. His two kids Jake and Grace (18 and 15) live with us half the time. We don’t have any pets, but we had a lot of cicadas this summer.
What do you like to do when you aren’t at work?
I really love hot yoga. I’ve attended more than 600 classes in the last couple of years and completed teacher training, but I don’t teach. I like independent movies, music and art, and have a crazy art wall in my house. I like thrifting and antiques.
What are you binge-watching?
We’re watching Modern Love on Amazon Prime and slowly making our way through The Sopranos.
What’s your favorite place in the world?
I think I haven’t been there yet, but I’m hopeful. I love walking cities!
What’s your favorite restaurant?
